Pancious - Grand Indonesia



Pancious serves a wide selection of sweet and savoury pancakes and waffles, as well as pasta, risotto and other western café fare like seared salmon, fish & chips and steak.


We tried the cheeseburger which bbkin rated poorly but hey I thought it was pretty decent! It's juicy and pretty hefty for IDR74000 and comes with fries, It is outshined by the pasta dishes though. To date I have tried the truffle mushroom cream pasta (you can choose your pasta, and we had our favourite, spaghetti!), beef bolognaise, seafood marinara, creamy tomato salmon and squid ink with prawn (this is restricted to fettucine and was very bland and dry. Its muddy grey colour was unappealing, quite unlike the black creamy squid ink I envisioned! - the only option I wouldn't recommend).


Savoury waffles (you may wanna choose pancake instead) I would go back for include:


~ waffle with burger patty and cheese (gorgonzola & mozzarella)
~ waffle with chicken, mushroom and mozzarella cheese


... and I have my eye on the creamy salmon and leek waffle! I happen to like waffles, have you noticed? ^_*


Bbkin tried the traditional Pancious pancake with maple syrup, butter and vanilla ice cream and I had (surprise, surprise) the traditional waffle! Nothing to shout about, I would probably head over somewhere else for dessert. Also the butter was an ice cold block which wouldn't melt and that was disappointing. There are other more elaborate sweet pancake and waffle options available, like banana ones with nutella and caramlelized nuts, berries with sauce etc.


Bbkin is conspicuously absent from this post as there aren't many healthy options available. Perhaps the seared salmon? We will keep you posted!


Service is prompt and decent. Staff are friendly except this one lady at reception but I reckon she just has a bitchy resting face. A bitchy resting poker face!! >:D Overall I would rate this place a 4/5.
