Location : Grand Indonesia
Score : 4/5
Date of first visit : Dec 2015
1. Core business : shabu shabu or steamboat or hot pot
2. Description : Personal shabu shabu pot with an all you can eat a la carte shabu shabu beef buffet !! It is accompanied by a help-yourself selection of fresh ready-to-cook vegetables, ready-to-cook fish fillet, french fries, chicken wings, chicken karaage (superb!), sweet potato tempura, sushi, udon carbonara, steamed rice, mushroom rice, gyu-don beef (sweet sliced beef with onion), fish balls, fruits, green tea & vanilla ice cream (a bit slushy!!) and beverages. Refills of the buffet counter are prompt. The choice of soup bases include: miso, spicy miso, chicken collagen, sukiyaki and original konbu. There is also a soya milk option but we have not tried it to date. there are a good selection of condiments like freshly minced garlic, goma (Japanese sesame) dressing, ponzu dressing, spring onion, grated ginger and chilli!
3. Service : Good, now that we are regulars! ^_^v
4. Ambience : modern and clean decor
5. Recommendation : various types of beef choices for the a la carte buffet to choose from. I would choose the non wagyu as the wagyu option can be too fatty. bowbae on the other hand loves the wagyu which melts in the mouth.
6. Pricing : Pretty good value for money as approx SGD25 per adult for dinner for 90 minutes.
7. bbkin's healthy choice: choose the chicken collagen soup and load up on the various types of vegetables like cabbage, onions, tofu, mushrooms. the non wagyu beef choice. End it off with the fresh fruit especially watermelon for dessert.
Like I said, we are regulars here! Despite the tropical weather, we get cravings for Shaburi pretty often!
